Survey Analysis

I created a survey to see just how much people know about their clothing and their clothing habits in general. The first questions was, how often do you shop for new clothes?

The results varied but, the most chosen response was a couple times a year, being chosen by 44% of people. The least chosen answer being once a year, only being chosen by 2% of the survey takers. This shows the drastic difference between clothing habits.

The second question was, where do you believe most your clothes come from? the three options given for possible answers were: India, Bangladesh and China. China being chosen the most and being the correct answer. Bangladesh a close second, India was chosen the least. This shows that most people do know where their clothing comes from, but aren't all as aware. The Third question was, How many times a year do you get rid of clothes? The answers were, annually, quarterly, twice annually and monthly. largely the most part of people said once a year, which on the basis of getting rid of clothes is quite good. The average people shouldn't have a wardrobe that is changing drastically multiple times a year. The fourth question was, do you donate your clothes? 95% of people said they did, but that means 5% do not. The fifth question was, what percentage of clothes that you give away actually get donated? Which had answers from a range of 0 to 100% being set by increments of ten. The majority of people chose 50% and only 11% of people chose 10-20% which is the right answer. This could be because people don't know that this was an issue, i certainly didn't before. If more people knew that even if thy donated clothes they would still end up in a landfill, perhaps they would think about what they gave away more. The final question was, the fashion industry is one of the worst pollutants only second to oil, true or false. 79% of people chose true, which is the correct answer. i was surprised by this question because i certainly didn't know this information before looking into the topic deeply. Maybe the consumer knows more then we think, and they just don't care about the consequences. Either way, someone is going to have to start caring soon.
